“My son is more relaxed at home and loves learning about and spending time with the animals at the farm.”

WELCOME TO SANCTUARY HILL!

Sanctuary Hill currently offers animal assisted therapy and animal assisted activities. Our goal is to eventually expand services to veterans, provide a mobile animal program for homebound or inpatient individuals when it is not feasible for participants to physically attend the farm, and an equine therapy program.

Sanctuary Hill consists of beautiful mountain views and rolling hills.

Sanctuary Hill promotes and builds social and communication skills. It involves farm-based therapy to create a nurturing and caring environment for adults, children, and animals.

We provide board certified therapists to work at the farm. Our participants and visitors do not pay for animal assisted services provided by the farm. We rely on generous contributions to make our mission possible.

Our goals include building an arena, hiring equine therapists, and purchasing riding equipment not only for our developmentally disabled participants but also the physically disabled.

In April 2022, Lynn and Steve purchased a farm in Ringgold, GA which is the current home of Sanctuary Hill, Inc.

We would love to discuss our farm or provide a tour. Thanks so much for ANY consideration of a partnership of any kind (in-kind, volunteer, donation, etc.).

We are located at:

4569 Long Hollow Road

Ringgold, GA 30736

We are open:

Tuesdays from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Wednesdays from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)

The client, therapist, and animal work together in therapeutic activities with goals for change, measurable objectives, and the expectation of identifiable progress toward treatment goals when applicable.

Who?

Animal-assisted therapy offers great benefits and is used to help those with Autism, anxiety, PTSD, depression, trauma, grief, attachment disorders, loneliness, and more.

What?

Benefits can include but not limited to de-escalation during meltdowns, offering sensory support, providing reassurance during anxiety, and facilitate social engagement.

Why?

Being around animals can lead to a reaction within your body that positively affects your emotions and overall well-being. Animals provide non-judgmental companionship for children and adults.

Benefits?

Animal-assisted therapy can facilitate socialization, communication, compliance, participation, eye contact, smiles, and attentiveness.
